When we set out, the goal was not to reinvent the wearable blanket; we just knew it could do a lot more.
Most blankets really can only do one thing and sit as a crumpled mess in the corner of your lounge or fall off the moment you move to reach for your coffee, laptop, or the remote.
Rena, founder of Hugglebud, was inspired by this simple, everyday frustration. She knew she could create a wearable blanket that was versatile and would keep you warm in any situation.

Our obsession with keeping things tidy, foldable and neat was a key driver behind the brand. No one has ever once managed to throw a blanket over the lounge and have it look like those glossy home reno magazines. The question we wanted to solve with Hugglebud was:

For Rena, it was about creating a blanket that could do more than simply keep you warm. After years of dealing with back and neck discomfort, she wanted something that could offer real comfort – not just warmth, but also a way to feel supported wherever she was.
For Jane, who spends long hours working from home, it's been a godsend. With the tie keeping it snug around her shoulders, she can work on the couch and stay warm without it sliding off every time she moves. It's also perfect for reading, travelling or simply relaxing after a long day.

One idea became another, and before long, Hugglebud was doing all the things we wished every blanket could do.

One thing that became really important to us was the people who needed that extra bit of comfort.
A grandparent who always feels the cold. A new mum feeding through the night. Someone going through chemotherapy, or recovering from surgery. Someone in aged care, or having a tough week, or just one of those days where all they want is to curl up somewhere warm.
We know Hugglebud can't fix everything, and we don't claim to. But if it can make someone feel a little more comfortable and warm, even for a little while, then that's a pretty beautiful thing. It's the reason we made it in the first place.
